Our Grammie

Grammie came to stay with us for a few days while she was here in Utah for a dentist appt. Really she came to see us and the appt. was the side note. While she was here she...organized my sewing (tackle) box, mended some pants, made delicious banana bread, read to the children, help me cut Zac and Bri's hair, folded clothes, make sandwiches...oh my. We were also able to go to the temple(with Julie), sit on the front porch and visit on a perfect summer night...it's just nice to visit and have her here. While I was riding in the truck with Landon and Sam one day after Mom and Dad had moved, I was laughing to myself about the funny things Dad says sometimes. I said out loud"You sure do have a good Grandad" and Sam came back with "And a good Dwammie(with a huge smile)!"
Thanks Mom for the visit. We loved it!

July 4th

Our day started bright and early. The boys(Brian and Zac) were participants in our Ward's breakfast flag ceremony. Brian had the honor of of being the spokesperson for the color guard and Zac participated for the first time. We had fun eating pancakes made by our Bishopric and visiting with friends. Later, we went to Gramma and Granpa Hair's home for a barbeque. We had a blast playing with cousins. All the kids looked patriotic in their red, white and blue. We topped off the evening by going up to the MTC field by the Provo Temple. It's our yearly tradition. We love it! There we met Julie, Drew and fam. The kids have fun playing in the sand from the volley ball area and we sit and EAT! We wait...and wait...with a bunch of tired kids...until the fireworks begin from the Stadium of Fire. Happy July 4th!

"Uh, Mom we can't find the snake."

Brian found a snake in our back yard and named him Stripes. He provided entertainment for him and his friend Jonathan for countless hours. They "finally" had a pet! They made a cage for him with a fresh supply of wet grass and bugs to eat. One day we went to the pool and of course left Stripes at home in his cage. On the way home Brian turned to me and said"Mom, I really need to hurry home and help Stripes." I asked him where he left him, wondering if it was the back yard or the front. To my surprise he answered..."He's in my room." We drove up the house and Brian and Jonathan ran inside. A few minutes later they both came out and Brian tried to break it to me easy" Uh, Mom, we can't find the snake." So began the search...I was thinking there is no way I'm sleeping in this house tonight. We finally found it under Natalie's bed. Good thing she wasnt home. Oh, the joys of having boys!!

Summer + children = Pure joy!

I cherish every moment of summer with our kids. Swimming at the pool, day trips to museums, star gazing, ice cream cones, family reunions and climbing trees just to name a few luxuries. Here are some pixs of our summer so far...
