Tribute to Our Awesome Dad

Happy Father's Day to our amazing Dad. Our Dad has a heart larger than life. A typical day for him looks like this....He wakes up to 6 hungry and energetic children, helps our mom with breakfast, diaper changes, morning hugs and kisses and always leaves with a loving reminder to "Be good for Mom!", then is off to work for our family. He often comes home for lunch only to help with more diaper changes, fix sandwiches or help Mom with errands. Dinner time comes around and he is there to help us set the table for dinner, run outside for football, jump on the trampoline, and then maybe fix a broken sprinkler head or toilet. Of course most of us need help with baths and getting ready for bed. The last sound we hear as we doze off to sleep is his voice reading to us...either the scriptures or a fun book. Our dad wears aprons to make cookies, can fix or build almost anything, makes books come to life with his animated voices, throws sweet football passes, plays with us,makes us laugh when we're mad, prays with us and for us...Dad we love you!!!

Natalie

Witnessing another human being grow from birth to young adulthood is one of the greatest gifts given to us in this life. I am in awe of each of our children. Natalie is a wonder to me. I love watching her grow up...I only wish she wouldn't do it so fast! Today we made another trip to the library...today Natalie ran in by herself while I waited outside with the boys. She came out with the tall stack of books and I felt happy all over that she loves to read so much. Love you Naters!!

Friday we decided to have a day without T.V. or computer. We all pitched in and cleaned the house then went to two museums at BYU. We topped off the day going to a park by Rock Canyon. The perfect place for children to roll down hills and run through the grass. Brian and Natalie even found a secret hiding place in a little grove of trees.
On the way home I heard... "Mom this was the best day of my life!"
"Can we do that again tomorrow?" "Mom! We didn't even argue!"
On days like this, I think to myself...'this is real joy. These are the days to remember and look back on in times of discouragement and sadness.'
The four black dots in the center of the picture of the field are Natalie, Brian Zac and Landon running to the other side of the "Big bowl of grass".

Rain,rain go away!

We have had rain the past few days and it has even been a little chilly outside...so as soon as the clouds parted there was a stampede to the tramp! My kids love trying fun tricks...so I captured a few....

Party on the tramp

The weather cleared up so the kids could enjoy cake and ice cream on the trampoline.Cute bunch of kids.

Our big 4 year old!

I love when we celebrate one of our children's birthdays. They get to pick what kind of cereal they want and a fun dinner of choice. Everyone rallies together to make the day extra special for the birthday child. Today it meant Sam didn't have to wait for a turn to play a round of Star Wars on the Game Cube. Major special treatment in his galaxy.
Happy Birthday Sunshine Boy!!

"Is the dust all gone?"

Summer vacation has officially begun! So, the first day with everyone home I nearly burned down the house via the highchair tray. I put some water on to boil and walked downstairs to check my e-mail. The door next to me was opened and I noticed some smoke outside. I walked out and smelled the smoke and thought...what are our neighbors burning? Then I looked at our house and smoke was billowing out of both our kitchen windows!!! It's us!!!! I ran upstairs and found the high chair tray lying on the stove top melting away to putty. I had turned on the wrong burner. The kids all ran out of the house with their hands over their mouths as I was literally wrapping plastic strands all over the high chair tray. "Guess what my mom did!!" was the topic of conversation with all the neighbor kids. Sam came in an hour later and peeked his head in the door..."Is the dust all gone?" Yes, but the smell decided to stay all day. So...buckle up here begins our vacation!!
